MRI of the Hand $925

MRI is very useful for examining the hand. An MRI of the hand can allow for the visualization of the muscles, nerves, blood vessels, ligaments, tendons, articular cartilage and the overall health of the bones of the hand. For patients who are being investigated for rheumatoid arthritis, we may need to add a specialized type of image that is acquired after the intravenous injection of an MRI contrast agent (dye). There is an added cost of $300 for this and we may require you to have a blood test before this procedure. The type of contrast agent we use has been validated to be one of the safest types available. A typical MRI of the hand takes approximately 30-45 minutes.

In some cases your physician may request that the MRI takes place after we inject a small amount of dye into one of the joints. This is known as an MRI Arthrogram and would be at an additional cost - please see our rates for more information or click HERE.
