MRCP (MR Cholecystopancreatography) $1,025
MRCP and MRI of the Pancreas/Liver $1,425

While most MRCP exams do not require contrast, for those that do, an additional $300 will be charged.

Magnetic Resonance Cholecystopancreatography (MRCP) is a specialized examination of the bile ducts of the liver, gallbladder and pancreas. The fluid in these ducts appear bright on the MRCP exam and can be processed into 3D rotation views.

In order for the fluid in the bowel to not interfer with the ability to see these ducts, patients are instructed to not eat or drink anything for 4 hours prior to their appointment.  This exam usually does not require any injections of dye and can be completed in approximately 30 - 45 minutes.

In some cases your doctor will ask us to assess the liver or pancreas as well as the bile ducts. Dedicated imaging of either the liver or pancreas will add up to another 30 minutes and may require the injection of an intravenous contrast agent. We may require you to have a blood test before this procedure. The type of contrast agent we use has been validated to be one of the safest types available.
