Cardiac MRI (CMR) $2,450

Most cardiac exams require contrast, which is included in the above price.  If your exam does not require contrast we will deduct $500 from this fee.

Cardiac MRI is considered to be the best way to assess all aspects of the health of your heart in a single visit.  With a cardiac MRI we will provide your doctor with a full report containing statistics about your heart, including the exact amount of blood that passes through your heart with every beat, how well your heart is contracting, if you have abnormal fluctuations in your heart rate (arrhythmias), if your valves are opening and closing properly (murmurs or regurgitation), congenital conditons (defects or variations that you were born with), the quantity of scar tissue in your heart muscle, or if your heart is being affected by other conditions (such as sarcoid, inflammation or other disease processes).

To fully assess these conditions, we will include a specialized type of image that is acquired after the intravenous injection of an MRI contrast agent (dye). We may require you to have a blood test before this procedure. The type of contrast agent we use has been validated to be one of the safest types available. The entire MRI exam will take approximately 90 minutes, but this may vary depending on your heart rate and the specific information your doctor requires.

One of the several hundred images we acquire when assessing the heart.  Here you can see the heart beating and the valves between the chambers opening and closing.  Measurements are taken off these images and interpreted by a Radiologist who has specialized in Cardiac MRI.  A detailed report is provided to your doctor or Cardiologist.
