MRA of the Aorta (Thoracic or Abdominal) $1,325
MRA of the Aorta (Thoracic and Abdominal) $1,775

Most Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) exams benefit from the use of an injection of intravenous contrast. This is included in the quoted price. In some cases this contrast is either unnecessary or contra-indicated. If contrast is not used, we would deduct $300 from this fee. If the dye is utilized, we may require you to have a blood test before this procedure. The type of contrast agent we use has been validated to be one of the safest types available.

MRA of the aorta allows for assessment of the largest blood vessel in the body, either the section within the chest (thoracic aorta) or within the abdomen (abdominal aorta). This is dependent on the indication that your doctor provides us. In some cases both areas may be covered. Pathologies that may be visulaized include stenosis (narrowings), blockages, malformations or aneurysms. A 3-dimensional model of the aorta is generated, allowing for rotation in any direction for a very thorough assessment. A typical MRA exam of the aorta will take 45 minutes to 1 hour.
