During the last several weeks we have been closely following the successes in the Northeast with maintaining particularly low infection rates of COVID-19, and are thankful the overall trend is towards a decrease in patients adversely affected by this virus. After consulting with the Northeast Medical Health Officer, and reviewing the guidelines established by the Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, we have been approved to provide essential MRI and Ultrasound services to address the backlog of urgent exams. We will continue to apply very stringent measures to do our part in containing the spread of the virus. To this end, we have increased sanitizing measures, screening of patients and staff and reducing patient traffic within our clinic. We are booking patients who are currently waiting for MRI and Ultrasound imaging based on the clinical urgency of their exam, in consultation with their referring physician and our radiologists. In order to minimize any exposure to others who may have the virus and to maintain appropriate personal distancing protocols, you will experience the following in regards to your exam:

  • You will be contacted in advance and asked a series of questions regarding your current health.
  • On the day of your exam, we ask that, unless you require assistance due to reduced mobility, you arrive for your appointment unaccompanied by others.
  • You will be screened again when you arrive to insure you have no symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Our staff will be wearing personal protective equipment and will have sanitized all surfaces, clothing and equipment that you may come into contact with prior to your exam.

Rest assured we take your safety very seriously and will strictly adhere to all provincial health guidelines to contain the spread of COVID-19 and to protect our staff and patients. Any patients who have been out of the country, been in contact with anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, or are experiencing symptoms such as cough, fever or malaise themselves, should self-isolate for 14 days. If this applies to you, please phone us to reschedule your appointment. If you have any concerns regarding attending your appointment in light of the current restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please feel free to contact us by telephone at 250-784-0040 or by e-mail at mri@peacemri.com.

We hope that you and your loved ones remain safe and healthy during these difficult times.
